Storm Drains, Brooks and Catch Basins Maintenance

 The Park & Highway Division maintains surface
drainage, including storm sewers and brooks, in order to provide for the free flow of surface water to minimize flooding, erosion and property damage. Activities include the cleaning of approximately 3,600 catch basins, 121 miles of storm drains and 15 miles of brooks and steams. Catch basins are cleaned regularly to minimize standing water and flooding problems throughout the Town. In addition, basins located in problem-prone areas, or at drainage collection points, are cleaned prior to, or immediately after, storms to prevent flooding and property damage.
