The Planning Board has adopted the following set of Rules and Regulations governing the
subdivision of land for the purpose of protecting the safety, convenience and welfare of the
inhabitants of Wellesley. These Rules and Regulations are intended to:
1. |
provide for adequate access to all the lots in a subdivision by ways that will be safe and convenient; |
2. |
lessen congestion in such ways and in the adjacent public ways; |
3. |
reduce danger to life and limb in the operation of motor vehicles; |
4. |
secure safety in the case of fire, flood, panic and other emergencies |
5. |
insure compliance with applicable zoning ordinances or bylaws; |
6. |
secure adequate provision for water, sewerage, drainage, underground utility services, fire, police and other similar municipal equipment, and street lighting and other requirements where necessary in a subdivision; |
7. |
coordinate the ways in a subdivision with each other, with the public ways in Wellesley and with the ways in a neighboring subdivision; and |
8. |
insure compliance with the recommendations of the Board of Health |
