Swim Tests
Slide Test (Also known as the American Red Cross Basic Water Competency): In center pool, jump in, swim one length crawl stroke or elementary backstroke. Tread water for one minute. You must pass this test to use the slide. Deep Water Test: In center pool, jump in, swim two lengths (up and back), one length must be crawl stroke with rhythmic breathing, the second length may be crawl stroke or breaststroke, next you must tread water for one minute and finally you must demonstrate that you can float on your back for 30 seconds. Passing this test allows you to swim out to the rafts. Lifeguards may ask anyone (adults included) who they feel exhibits poor swimming skills to take either test. However, anyone under 4 ft tall will be required to take a test before using the slide or swimming in deep water. You will be issued a wrist band, the color of your band will alert guards as to which test you have passed.

We allow the use of properly fitted, Coast Guard approved, life jackets. Due to the implementation of Christian's Law, we will make available PFD's for patrons to use.We can not guarantee that all sizes will be available at a given time.Use of a PFD does not mean that you can go in deep water, in fact, it means that you must stay on the shallow side of the red buoy line. We do not allow flotation devices with the exception of "noodles" for adult water exercise. We do not allow the use of masks, fins or snorkels.
The red buoy line at Morses Pond denotes a sudden drop off. We caution everyone who is a weak or non-swimmer, please do not cross this line.
