The Board of Public Works (BPW) and the Permanent Building Committee (PBC) received unanimous approval at the recent Annual Town Meeting for the construction of a DPW Administration Operations Building addition to the existing Water and Sewer Building. A special Town-wide election will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2011 to vote on funding for this project.
The objectives of the project are to provide adequate space for the DPW Management Services and Engineering Divisions, improve working conditions and operational efficiencies for the department, and provide a working environment that is ADA compliant, energy efficient and will meet all state and local safety and building codes. The existing facility is overcrowded, in substandard condition and lacks needed active engineering plan storage space.
Bids for this project were due on February 24, 2011. Information for bidders can be found by clicking on the link at the top of this page. Additional information about the project is available below and will be updated as the project progresses. If you have any questions about this project, please contact the DPW Engineering Division at (781) 235-7600 x3315.
